Reservations & TicketsJoin us for a lecture on the origin of the world’s first synthetic pigment. Dr. Heidi Saleh will explain the significance of this enduring pigment and how it was utilized to enliven and enrich ancient Egyptian paintings.
Dr. Heidi Saleh is an Egyptian American scholar and Art History Professor at Santa Rosa Junior College, specializing in the art of the ancient Mediterranean world. She holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Egyptian Art and Archaeology from the University of California, Berkeley, and an undergraduate degree in Archaeology and Anthropology from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Saleh teaches global art survey courses as well as a dedicated course on Egyptian art. She is passionate about making art accessible to all. Her pedagogical approach emphasizes broadening access to and engagement with art history, museums, and monuments.
