Golden hour meets river town charm during the Saturday Sunset Series at The Floathouse Petaluma. Follow the annual Petaluma River Craft Beer Fest with a paddle! Our nonprofit-founded downtown boat rental center stays open late so visitors and locals alike can experience Petaluma from the water during the most beautiful time of day.

Rent a kayak, canoe, stand up paddle board, pedal kayak, or water bike and cruise through the Turning Basin past outdoor dining, glowing waterfront patios, and the historic D Street Bridge. Venture into the quieter marsh-lined channel beyond downtown—or, on especially high tides, sneak upstream into hidden stretches of river.

Bring friends, snacks, your pup, and your peaceful intentions. Some evenings may also feature a live DJ at the dock.

It’s a uniquely Petaluma way to spend a summer evening: relaxed, outdoorsy, community-oriented, and connected to the river that gave this town life. Crew-guided paddles: 5:30 pm. Self-guided paddles: anytime!
