About the Teacher: Nancy Ballard’s love of art began in childhood, when she first discovered the magic of brush and paint—a sense of wonder that continues to shape her work today. After a full life as a mother, grandmother, and corporate professional, she returned to art following her retirement in 2006, studying watercolor with Mary L. Harden at Strybing Arboretum. In 2009, she was recognized as a Master Artist of Botanical Illustration by the San Francisco Botanical Garden Society. Nancy has also worked as a gallery curator and exhibiting artist throughout the Bay Area, sharing her botanical work in galleries, wineries, hospitals, and nonprofit spaces while supporting environmental awareness through art.
