Della Fattoria – “Pilgrimage of Wine Country pleasure”

Bustling restaurant with full, sunny front window and eclectic art and chandeliers

Breaking world-class bread

After Della Fattoria’s fresh-baked aroma draws visitors in, the eclectic decor catches their eye, then the delicious food has them lingering over sumptuous creations and leaving with a baguette under their arm or pastries to share with friends. The family-owned bakery and café is a favorite local hangout for its world-class menu sourced from the freshest produce of local farmers, ranchers, dairies and wineries. The creative and perfectly prepared food is sophisticated but casual.

Housed in a Historic Petaluma Downtown building, the space is urban and comfortable, with handmade tables and benches, eclectic lighting, and wildflower arrangements. Styled after the Weber Ranch, there’s a sense of bringing the outside in, setting the scene for a memorable dining experience.

Co-owner Elisa Weber told ABC Eyewitness News (March 2026) that she’s seen adults come in that have been coming since they were children. “It’s about making this place feel very, very welcoming and happy and magical.”

Artisanal bread

Long before she opened her first Petaluma Boulevard North bakery (before the cafe), Kathleen Weber’s artisanal bread was getting snapped up by high-end North Bay restaurants such as French Laundry in Yountville. Since then, Della Fattoria has accumulated many accolades, propelling it into a favorite breakfast and lunch spot, and a go-to for fresh, authentic bread.

Recognition

Mashed listed Della Fattoria at the top of their list of 16 in “Where to get the absolute best bread in the US” (2022). “Even the oven is unique, burning only eucalyptus wood . . .”

Sonoma Magazine declared Della Fattoria a “pilgrimage of wine country pleasure” (November 2017).

Saveur named Della Fattoria in a list of “20 Great American Bread Bakeries” in 2012. “Della Fattoria’s Rosemary-Meyer Lemon bread is a knockout: salty, lemony, herbal, with a beautiful sheen to the well-structured crumb and a crust that bears beauty marks from the floor of the hearth it baked upon.

Bon Appetit named Della Fattoria one of “America’s 10 Best Bread Bakeries” in 2010.

Della Fattoria‘s menu showcases the best products from Sonoma County farms and ranches. Bellwether Farms ricotta, Zoe’s Meats Pastrami, and eggs from their nearby ranch are just a few of the ingredients on their tempting menu. This popular Petaluma breakfast and lunch spot is open Thursday through Sunday at 143 Petaluma Blvd. N.
