Agricultural Freshness at 3 Farmers Markets

Dating back to the Gold Rush era, Petaluma has had a reputation as an area of agricultural abundance. Today, visitors can explore Petaluma’s three farmers markets and discover – and taste! – all the deliciousness picked fresh from the field that morning.

Visitors and locals alike enjoy shopping the year-round Tuesday Farmers Market from conveniently located at Lucchesi Park, 320 N. McDowell Blvd., from 10am-1:30pm with lots of free parking. Even on a rainy day in January, you’ll find more than 40 vendors selling local produce, prepared foods, handmade soaps and more.

In the heart of downtown, shady Walnut Park on Petaluma Blvd. South and D Streets, hosts the Saturday Farmers Market from mid-May through mid-November, from 2-5pm. Chat with the farmers, shop for the freshest fruit and veggies, enjoy live music from the charming gazebo and let the kids enjoy the playground. It’s the perfect summer Saturday in Sonoma County.

At the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds, the Thursday Evening Farmers Market is a delightful place for a summer evening. Stroll leisurely throughout the grounds from the beginning of June through the end os September on Thursdays, from 4-8pm.
