In a Gotham-like city facing a water shortage, a government ban on private toilets leads citizens to regulated public facilities. Amidst this, a hero rises, planning a revolution for freedom. 

Inspired by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, Urinetown the Musical irreverently mocks societal norms, redefining musical theater with wickedly modern wit and the sustained ability to produce gales of unbridled laughter.
