Launching from The Floathouse’s modern low docks right downtown, this outing includes about 90 minutes on the water in stable sit-on-top kayaks. No experience needed. The gentle route covers about a mile and a half, with stops to raft up at fascinating landmarks and docks. Learn how this 13-mile tidal waterway once served as a Gold Rush–era “saltwater highway” feeding a booming San Francisco—and how today’s community is reimagining the river through recreation, restoration, public access, ecology, wellness, and local culture.

Includes all gear, knowledgeable local guides, insider stories, and post-paddle perks at nearby businesses. Finish in time for brunch, shopping, or more downtown exploring.
