Join us for Sunday Swing Night at Hall of the Above!
Featuring live music by The doRiaN Mode. The doRiaN Mode explores the Great American Songbook as it dishes up vintage jazz, swinging R&B, and soulful ballads, from the sounds of 1920s speakeasies and 1930s big-band swing to 1940s jump blues and the rollicking R&B of Ruth Brown. Vocalist and bassist Dorian Bartley leads this Petaluma-based acoustic quartet featuring Robby Elfman on piano/clarinet, Peter Graves on sax, and Tony Blake on drums. Whether they’re stomping at the Savoy in salute to Count Basie or paying homage to R&B legend Etta James, the doRiaN Mode brings elegance to classic American music.
Jasmine Worrell, the Bay Area’s top swing dance instructor, will offer a class from 4:15-5pm.Followed by live music and an open dance floor until 7pm.
$25 for admission includes the class — cash at the door. Kids 12 and under are free. All skill levels welcome; no partner required.
