Celebrate the harvest season with an extra hour on the river at The Floathouse Petaluma, our nonprofit-founded boat rental center in the heart of downtown. A new moon and an 6:30 pm sunset means that the sparkle on the water will be coming from land! Enjoy the lights of our vibrant downtown as you paddle into the sunset, literally!

Rent a kayak, canoe, stand up paddle board, pedal kayak, or water bike and cruise through the Turning Basin past outdoor dining, glowing waterfront patios, and the historic D Street Bridge. Venture into the quieter marsh-lined channel beyond downtown—or, on especially high tides, sneak upstream into hidden stretches of river.

Bring friends, snacks, your pup, and your peaceful intentions. Some evenings may also feature a live DJ at the dock.

It’s a uniquely Petaluma way to spend a summer evening: relaxed, outdoorsy, community-oriented, and connected to the river that gave this town life. Crew-guided paddles: 5:30 pm. Self-guided paddles: anytime!
