Stylish Dining at Rosen’s 256 North
It makes sense that the hostess station at Rosen's 256 North is anchored by a bakery case filled with a tempting variety of cheesecakes. The owner of the restaurant is Jan Rosen who with her sister, founded J.M Rosen’s Cheesecakes in 1983. Made famous by Hollywood celebrities including Frank Sinatra, Rosen’s wholesale bakery continues to produce decadently rich desserts.
But much to the delight of Sonoma County diners, Rosen's 256 North has brought Jan back to her earlier career running full restaurants. The website describes the cuisine at Rosen's 256 North as “contemporary American” which vastly undersells the sophistication of their menu. Appetizers include a crudo trio (seared ahi, diced scallop ceviche, sweet salmon poke), Grilled Octopus and Truffle Mac & Cheese. Even the burger is high-end Wagyu beef covered in melted Sierra Nevada white cheddar.
The restaurant has a full bar – and literally might have the biggest bar in the city – to enjoy classic cocktails or more adventurous libations such as the “Just Beet It” made with Patron tequila, fresh oj, lime juice, beet syrup, and garnished with cilantro.
