Where should a competition for the “makers” of home brewed beer be held? In the Maker District, of course.

That’s why the 2017 Sonoma County Home Brewers Competition is moving to a new location this year. Set for Saturday, October 7, the Sonoma County Home Brewers Competition will take place on Scott Street in northeast Petaluma. A must for both beer aficionados and aspiring home brewers, more than 40 home brews from Sonoma County and beyond will be available for tasting.

Sponsored by the Petaluma Downtown Association, the location for the third SCHBC may be different but you can count on all the features that made the previous events such a success – food trucks, include Petaluma Poultry’s ROCKY® and ROSIE® Chicken, live music, beer games, and of course, creative recipes made by passionate brewers – will be back for this year’s event.

The competition is tough. One brew from the top 10 will be crowned “Best of Show” and awarded the grand prize: the opportunity to learn how to large batch brew their winning recipe with the pros at 101 North Brewing Co.
