Petaluma wants visitors to know that art is important to our community; that's why the Petaluma Arts Center is right next to our Visitors Center. The Arts Center is a vibrant cultural hub sponsoring events such as the festive annual observance of El Dia de los Muertos.
The thriving arts community extends into our historic downtown just a few blocks away where there are more than a dozen galleries. Exhibitions range from handcrafted jewelry to paintings and sculpture by contemporary artists of local and often international renown. Many community events center around the arts such as the Second Saturday Art Walks during the spring and summer months where art aficionados have the opportunity to learn more about the artists from the gallery owners. As a testament to Petaluma's long standing commitment to the arts, Walnut Park has been the setting for the annual Art in the Park exhibition for more than 50 years. Please see our Events Calendar for dates and times.
