Petaluma Adobe State Historic Park Tour
Stroll the scenic grounds at Petaluma Adobe State Historic Park, once known as Rancho Petaluma, General Mariano Vallejo's sprawling 66,000 acre, 100 square-mile agricultural empire. The Adobe was the hub of the general's vast land grant that marked him as one of the richest, most powerful men in the Mexican province of Alta California from 1834-1846.
The main economic activity of the rancho revolved around the hide and tallow trade.
Authentic furniture and interpretive displays in the Petaluma Adobe make it possible to visualize many aspects of 1840's life on the rancho.
Calendar of Events for events at the Adobe like Living History Day in May and Fandango in October that encourage visitors to re-live 1880s at the site. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy under the trees. Call 707-762-4871 for more information.
