
Dogs
The Petaluma Parks & Recreation Department can be reached at 778-4380 and has detailed information about area parks where dogs are welcome.
For example,Rocky Memorial Dog Park, at the end of Casa Grande Road, is a nine-acre, fenced, off-leash dog park open from dawn to dusk. To get to Rocky Memorial Dog Park, take Lakeville Highway (Hwy 116) heading east and turn west on Casa Grande Road.
Other parks where dogs are allowed to run off the leash in certain areas include Arroyo, Bond, Del Oro, Lucchesi, McNear and Prince parks and Wiseman Airport Park. Generally dogs are allowed off leash in these parks from 6 to
11 a.m. Monday through Friday, from 6 to 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday and from 8 to 10 p.m., Monday through Sunday. Consult the Parks and Recreation Department for details.
Parks with morning and evening free-run times are Glenbrook, Oakhill (lower section only), Sunrise and Westridge. Consult the city website for park information and locations.
Dogs on a leash are also welcome at two Sonoma County Regional Parks in the Petaluma Area; Helen Putnam Park at 411 Chileno Valley Road and Crane Creek Regional Park at 6107 Pressley Road are both open from sunrise to sunset.
Please don't forget to observe the anti-litter law by cleaning up after the dog(s).
