Combining passion, creativity and some amazing ingredients, Petaluma’s breweries and distilleries are a destination for aficionados of hand-crafted ales and spirits. Whether you choose to visit tasting rooms in the “Maker Alley” district of northeast Petaluma or stroll historic downtown, delicious discoveries await.
Beer speaks. People mumble.
Did the craft brewing movement start in Petaluma? Perhaps… but there’s no doubt that something special started when Lagunitas set up shop in Maker Alley more than 20 years ago. Today, Lagunitas brews are enjoyed worldwide, making their brewery tour and toasting their latest release a must for every craft beer lover.
Savoring a glass of “dark, thick and scary” Imperial Stout is just the beginning of the good times at Lagunitas. Through September, favorite bands perform outdoors in the “LaguMiniAmphitheaterette.” Or enjoy live music almost every day in their Taproom along with killer pub fare and special-release brews. Children and dogs welcome.
These guys know their hops
No gimmicks here. It’s all about great tasting beer at 101 North Brewing Company’s no-nonsense taproom, in Maker Alley. Using reclaimed barn wood to recreate the feel of the family farm house, eight beers are on tap, including one that uses nitrogen gas instead of carbon dioxide for a creamier taste.
